This beautiful tour is for the naturalist who wants a serious introduction to the many endemic species of beautiful birds and butterflies of Jamaica. The views over the bay and from Savannah la Mar to Whitehouse are breathtaking.

We will pass through pimento plantations and hope to see the elusive Mountain Witch.  Other birds on our route include the Jabbering Crow, Streamertail and Mango Hummingbirds, Jamaican Oriole, Stripe Headed Tanager, Greater Antillean Bullfinch, Yellow Shouldered Grass Quit, Olive throated parakeet, parrotlets and the occasional endangered Yellow Billed Parrot.  We will also find observe nest sites of the remarkably approachable Jamaican Robin.

Among the butterflies, we will search for the uncommon Jamaican Admiral and large orange Orion while observing the more numerous Satyr, Dorcas, Zebra, Malachite and Jamaican Polydamus and Thersites swallowtails.

The walk climbs at an easy pace with frequent stops to observe, photograph and discuss sightings.

The outstanding beauty of this tour and the birding and nature opportunities with knowledgeable guides and local experts will make this one of the highlights of your visit to Jamaica
